Well we are making final preparations for our First Course on monday. The list of things to check & pack seems endless. Looking forward to meeting all our particpants , some we know, some we don't know yet. Hope you all have a great & fun day.
Lovely to meet so many interested people at the Tullamore show today. Karina & myself decided to take a stand to help spread the word about our newly available CFR courses. People seemed to have travelled from all over the country. As always members of the public always manage to put our brains into overtime mode.
My top memorable comments from the day were some one wondering if my 2 poodles, which had accompanied us for the day, were toys or robots? A little girl became very upset upon seeing the fake wound with protruding glass stuck on “petunia the poodle" mannequin’s leg. My non-existing parenting skills came to the fore and shortly there after we had a smile back on her face- phew! One little toddler marched straight into the back area of the stall were my dogs were snuggled down and promptly sat in the bed with them happy as a boy in poodles! Much amusement & camera grabbing followed until his parents finally persuaded him it was time to go! Canine 1st Aid crèche services! On another note a lovely lady marched up to me {buddy off on coffee run} and announced “Water please “ … I was abit bemused but it transpired she had thought we were Canine First Aid station for the dogs attending the events on the day. Her lovely collie had been competing in working trails had wanted a drink so I duly offered my dogs bowl. Another funny incidence that repeated twice during the day was a child picking up nurse scooby {see pic below} and running off down the lines of stalls ! thankfully both mum's managed to aprehend the thief & Scooby was returned. Well our website is coming together now- usual little gremlins needing attention but all systems go.
Our standing-dog mannequins came from USA as we found it impossible to source them here. The Horatio the husky & Petunia the poodle arrived boxed together with no complications but customs decided to hold hostage the Larry the labrador & Rocky the rottweiler. Crumbs this is worse then pet passports ! I had to submit paperwork which satisfied the authorities and the hostages were released to start their new lives here in Ireland as teaching buddies.
